It's common for the aluminium wheel rims on old (and not-so-old) Honda TransAlps to deteriorate and split to the extent that they have to be replaced. Rather than have someone else fit my 600v with new rims and spokes at great cost, I went for a different approach.... But will this work, how much will this ultimately cost and have I bitten off more than I can chew?

The end of the road, the end of my biking
It's been a long time since my last post.... Financial aspects of my existence have not been good and various bits of my ageing body going wrong, have dampened my enthusiasm for much other than sleep, if I'm honest.
Anyway...
The guy who was supposed to have shipped me the rear caliper, as it happened, had a serious bike accident which prevented him from doing much apart from lie in hospital recuperating. Although I raised a case in ebay and gave a negative comment (which I would have subsequently withdrawn if I could have), at least I didn't bad-mouth him and he contacted me apologetically, some time later. I did still have to get a caliper elsewhere, though.
So, where are we now? Well I can't afford to finish the project, is the long and short of it. I need to offload as many of my hobbies as possible so this baby is going up for sale asap. She's been regularly started up and run so the engine is still in good form, so if you want to offer me £600 and bring a trailer with you, I think you'll agree it's a bargain. There's a box of bits and pieces too. It breaks my heart, of course, but I have no choice.
My Pan European is up for grabs too, mail me if you're interested. SORNed for the last 18 months but started regularly, a grand for a quick sale.
